Microsoft đang tạo ra một cuộc "lột xác" lớn cho Game Pass khi dịch vụ đăng ký này được tinh giản lại thành ba cấp độ "nâng cấp" gồm: Essential, Premium và Ultimate. Chuyện đáng chú ý nhất lúc này chính là việc bổ sung hàng loạt game mới vào cả ba cấp độ, trong đó có Ubisoft+ Classics cùng nhiều bom tấn như Hogwarts Legacy và Diablo 4.
Tất cả những tựa game này đã có sẵn ngay hôm nay, riêng các thành viên Game Pass Premium (trước đây là Standard) đang sở hữu hơn 40 tựa game mới để khám phá. Tổng cộng, Game Pass Premium sẽ mang đến hơn 200+ đầu game chơi trên cả console lẫn PC, và các game độc quyền của Microsoft sẽ ra mắt trên cấp độ này trong vòng một năm kể từ ngày phát hành chính thức. Riêng với series Call of Duty, bạn chỉ có thể chơi ngay từ ngày ra mắt khi có Game Pass Ultimate hoặc PC Game Pass, còn không thì thôi mua riêng nhé. Giá Game Pass Premium vẫn giữ nguyên ở mức 15 USD/tháng.
Vậy còn gì thay đổi nữa? Microsoft khẳng định mức tăng giá 50% này sẽ mang lại "bước nâng cấp lớn nhất cho đến nay" với hàng loạt cam kết: thêm game ra mắt ngay ngày đầu, truy cập Fortnite Crew và Ubisoft+ Classics, cùng chất lượng stream Xbox Cloud Gaming được nâng lên tối đa 1440p.
Game Pass Core sẽ bị loại bỏ, và những ai đang dùng gói này sẽ được tự động chuyển sang Essential, trong khi Game Pass Ultimate cũng sẽ tăng giá theo.
Game Pass Essential vẫn sẽ là gói chơi game được chọn lọc với thư viện hơn 50 tựa game, và vẫn được làm mới với vài cái tên thú vị như Hades hay Cities: Skylines - Remastered. Giá vẫn giữ nguyên 10 USD/tháng.
